I have been designing websites for years and for the last 7 years my favorite platform by far has been Squarespace. And seriously, 7 years is eons in the tech world! I want to share with you the top reasons I choose Squarespace for myself and my Creative Entrepreneur clients.
1. IT’S INTUITIVE
You are a Creative Entrepreneur … you may be a photographer, an artist, a musician, a blogger, an interior designer, a hair stylist, a baker, etc. You probably wear many hats in your business. As entrepreneurs, we not only need to shine at our craft, but we need to be social media gurus, part-time accountants, salespersons, etc. Phew! Let me please take one thing off your plate. While I still highly recommend hiring an expert to custom design your website, you don’t need to be a tech guru to update your site in Squarespace. Their support staff is friendly and knowledgeable and is happy to answer any question you have or point you in the direction of their incredible library of tutorials.
SECURITY
Having a secure website means that the data being exchanged between your client and your web server is encrypted. Squarespace websites are automatically protected with an SSL certificate. (That is the lock icon before your domain name and the “s” in “https://“) Squarespace is also a Closed Source platform and they handle all security updates so you don’t have to worry about it. Other platforms that are open source such as WordPress have add-ons and plugins with inherent security risks.
UPTIME
Squarespace has close to 100% uptime meaning your will rarely if ever be down due to a server issue. On the off chance there is an issue, they have a team of developers that are on it faster than … see its already fixed!
